Two More Months

In exactly two months from today I'll be boarding a plane on my way to Japan.

Excited.
Nervous.
Anxious.
Ecstatic.

I'm contracted for 1 year and I just found out that I'm going to be in Onomichi, which is a city about 15 minutes awa
y from Fukuyama and 45 minutes from Hiroshima City. It's a port town facing the inland sea. Roughly 150,000 people. It boasts about 30 Buddhist Temples, dating back to the 10th Century CE. Summers are hot and humid, winters go down to only about 5 Celsius, so the true Canadian girl in me will sorely miss tough winters! I haven't heard from my predecessor yet, so I'm not sure where in the city I'll be or what my apartment will be like, and yes, the anticipation IS killing me!

So only 2 months to go!
Things on my to-do list include: buying a ton of pharmaceuticals, tying up loose ends, enjoying the Montreal summer, spending TONS of time with family and friends and somewhere in there packing.

My japanese is improving, thanks to a japanese class I'm taking twice a week. So hopefully by the time of departure I'll be able to say "I don't understand you. Do you speak english? Where's the bathroom?" Ha.

I'll try my best to update this baby as much as possible both pre-departure and post!
