Woes of Packing

Over the past few years I have managed to accumulate many things. From apartment to apartment I've picked up sofas, chairs, tables, bookcases, books (en masse!), do-dads and thing-bops. Last year when I was moving, I decided to get rid of practically everything except what I needed for my room. I felt that I did a pretty good job in expunging excess material objects from my life. Now however, that I'm moving across the world, I have to bring my entire life down to 2 suitcases and 1 carry-on. Thankfully my parents are letting me store my larger pieces of furniture at their house, along with a couple boxes of books and a few sentimental items. But man, this getting rid of stuff is hard!! I pick something up, I look at it and I think to myself "When you come back from Japan, is this REALLY something you NEED around?" And so forth begins my packing and trashing technique. This post, therefore, is an homage to a few valued items I've managed to pry from my own hands. All I've got to say, is this better be worth it....
